Bio
From a 65cc two-stroke to the national podium
Dexter “Daytona” Salaverria is a fourth-generation San Franciscan road racer based in Petaluma, California. He started weekly supermoto training at Sonoma Kart Track in spring 2024 on a KTM SX 65 two-stroke, with dirt-track training on weekends and one goal written on his resume: race in the MotoAmerica Mini Cup.
In July 2025, at the Mission MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier at Sonoma Raceway, he traded blows with Anthony Lupo Jr. over two ultra-close GP 190 races and earned a shout-out from promoter Tyler O’Hara. Three weeks later he made his National Final debut at Road America with Salaverria Racing Team and finished 8th of 16.
In 2026 he won the AMA Golden State Championship Mini Cup GP190 title with 150 points, finished 2nd of 38 in the Golden State Asphalt Adult Mini GP standings, then returned to Road America with Team Ohvale USA. He reached the podium in three of four races and finished third in the nation.
